ode to the city part six (dreambird)

so city here we are again, you and me, walking cold streets together, you've got you brick and cobbleston, i've got my nightcap. city, sometimes, we've been gone too long, times when we're no where at all.

so city, maybe i wanna have a little fun some ngiht, walk along side a pretty girl or just laugh real loud at fool jokes, maybe city we'll tell a few bad ones here together in the back alley lgiht of dawn and city, let's hear a bit more nina before we roll off, before i turn over a new leaf, roll over in bed and wake, you city, you'll be sun shining tomorrow probably warm again (who can ever tell with you) and city, damn, can't we just be friends all cool and collected like, war-free or whatnot.

city, i've had a few jazz dreams in the last week or so, a few i didn't even tell you about, sitting in the smoke early blue light turns on charlie parker shootin' up in the back (goes on in five) and i heard, now i heard city, that dizzy's comin' on too, and what do you know about that?

city, bird played all night, sweeter than lester young or all the others, just played over and over, sounds like waves rolling over and turning inside my head, city, the man could play and if that's good, if that's good, what else bad can you say about a man?
