excerpts from a life
these are just excerpts: so often the way i live and move breathing is artwork and stepping into the sunlight turns the orange day on these are just excerpts: each time i wake slipping cold-toed from the bed and choosing the day's opening music everything is arching upward. these are just excerpts: falling to sleep quiet-eyed and calm as mountain lakes- i am beneath the mountain, i am the mountain, the mountain comes to me these are just excerpts: long walks around hillsides, dipping into the waterfall canyon and sitting in dark caves watching water parachute downwards these are just excerpts: absolute moments still and easy-faced just watching the clouds roll by these are just excerpts: a cup of tea waiting for the mountain to rise out of the morning mist (every second is aching) i am here now just laughing at walls and horizon lines these are just excerpts: a cigarette in the afternoon shared with the sun these are just excerpts: the sensation of facing the sun letting it's warmth roll across you while your back is coated in cold day shade: the sense of being two places at once. these are just excerpts: everything about my everyday sends surreal into a tailspin and off from there (moon-targets and marigold mornings) these are just excerpts: the motionlessness of evenings these are just excerpts: the simplest way to speak the gentlest tone the largest echo the most certain of all afterthoughts are wading in, danger ahead, but here i am (as you), a witness to the unfolding of the universe and why not, right?
