the honor of politicians?

so here is the story i heard as to how kerry won the silver cross for valor. of course, he won't talk about how or why he won it. supposedly he was on a small boat with a few other soldiers and nearby was a crazy warzone of a place where an enemy soldier was wreaking havoc with a grenade launcher, destroying several of our ships. kerry told the crew to head over to the explosions. they thought he was crazy since they had no serious firepower, what good could they possibly do? but they went anyway since he was the commanding officer. when they began to approach, kerry jumped off the ship he was on, and swam to the boat with the enemy grenade-launcher-happy soldier, climbed aboard, ran up to him and shot him in the face, thus ending the battle and saving the lives of those on the ships that were getting bombarded by grenades.

who knows if any of that is true, but it's pretty interesting either way. if it is true, and kerry isn't using that story as political hay then that's about as admirable as a politician can be these days.
