when was the last time
you thought about
the meteor shower
that night we laid
together on the cold earth
talking about all
the grand designs
we had for life
or all the ways we
wanted to shake things
up and make people
think

and we did want to
so badly, but maybe
it might've been okay
if we'd just laid there
quietly watching
the stars fall.
