our worry eyes watch
the world
you (the world) and
me (the sun sometimes)
turn our hearts to stone
for fun
turn the sound down on anything
that means anything
seems like
we're working it out
so when the worst happens
we don't have to watch
and can pretend
(as best as we two can)
it didn't.
