used to be I was certain about pretty much everything and in some ways, I still am, but I’ve noticed how the things I’m certain of now are different from what I was so certain about at 15, 16, 18 and how that seems to happen. There’s a turnover rate to beliefs and when it happens all your neat little rows of certainty are erased as easy as chalk from sidewalks and you’re left holding onto nothing and staring life in the face and maybe that’s how it should always be.
