the lyrics experiment

so my cousin, a musician, is in a particularly prolific period just now and he's asked me to write some lyrics for him. i've never written lyrics before and it's a whole other animal from what i've been doing all these years.

i mean, i have somewhere around 10,000 poems done (only half of which are worth a puddle of piss) and am a third to three quarters of the way through five novels and two nonfiction pieces with another five books (fiction and nonfiction) in early development, but lyrics?

anyway, i hammered out a few dozen for him yesterday and am awaiting his response. i'm not really sure i was even going the direction he wanted with them, but i'm certainly curious about it.

maybe i'll keep you posted on it.
